Giant Storage Expands Into Yakima Valley – August 2025

A major new storage development is coming to Yakima Valley, with construction underway on a 70,000-square-foot Giant Storage facility at the intersection of 75th Avenue and West Nob Hill Boulevard. Spanning nearly five acres, the project will include a mix of traditional storage units as well as dedicated space for RVs and boats. Unit sizes will range from smaller 10×10 spaces to larger 14×48 options, offering flexibility for both homeowners and businesses.

The facility is being developed by Steel Structures America, the Post Falls, Idaho-based company behind the Giant Storage brand. Plans also include a regional sales office on site, giving customers in Central Washington a local hub to explore design ideas, review completed projects, and connect directly with the sales team.

According to co-owner Justin Sternberg, the Yakima Valley site was selected because of strong demand and limited supply in the area. “We saw an opportunity here to meet a clear need,” Sternberg explained, noting that the location provides both high visibility and easy access from one of the region’s busiest corridors. Rental rates are projected to fall between 75 cents and $1.25 per square foot, making the facility competitive while offering larger unit sizes than many existing options.

Steel Structures America, founded in 1995 and operated by Justin and his brother Shawn since 1999, has delivered more than 14,000 projects across the Northwest and beyond. The company’s expertise spans everything from post-frame shops and barns to large commercial and storage complexes. In fact, Yakima County has long been a stronghold for the firm, with over 1,000 projects completed locally.

Construction on the new facility is expected to move quickly, with buildings going vertical this fall and an opening planned for spring 2026. Once complete, Giant Storage will bring a modern, secure, and accessible storage solution to Yakima Valley residents and businesses.
